The laser system is intended for use by forensic scientists for use at crime scenes and within laboratory environments. The laser is used to detect latent fingerprints, sweat, urine, saliva, blood, and other biological traces during fluorescence examination. The operator scans the diverging laser Beam slowly across a surface. The operator sees the traces by wearing goggles designed to transmit the fluorescent light whilst absorbing the illumination light.
The lasers operate at a multiple of wavelengths as defined on the previous page with a number of different power levels. The lasers are Class 4 and Class 3B Laser products.
The power supply plug is used as the laser / power supply disconnect switch and when used shall be connected near to the product with easy access.
CopperTree Forensics Lasers are all Portable, handheld lasers that can be used outside of the lab, at the scene, comfortably on and off for 5-6 hours with minimal discomfort to the user.
All the CopperTree Forensic Lasers come with a protective, lightweight, shatterproof and shock resistant carry case.
The comprehensive CopperTree Forensics user Safety Guide is included with all the lasers, along with a bespoke User Guide for each laser. This is provided on a USB stick or via email and on request a hard copy can be provided.
ALL CopperTree Forensics Laser ranges are tested by LaserMET to deliver IEC/EN 60825-1:2014 to certify wavelength and power emissions. This is further validated by an independent Lab report, supplied to all clients at point of sale.
All CTF Lasers are built in hard wearing Aluminium to ensure durability at difficult crime scene locations. The outer casing can withstand intrusive cleaning protocols from scene to scene, with a 10% bleach solution.
